GEO magazine’s "carrier" started in 1976 in Germany. Later on, further successful expansions followed in France, Spain and Russia. In Fall 2005 another six European countries joined. Currently the GEO journal-family reaches over 11 million readers each month. GEO publications differ from each other only in the way as each reflects its publishing country’s cultural environment.
